Housing Authority breaks ground for apartments for the homeless

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne is a big step closer to building homes for some of the city’s chronic homeless. The Fort Wayne Housing Authority broke ground yesterday on what will become the River’s Edge Apartments.

Housing Authority Director George Guy says the hope is to provide a home for people who struggle to stay off the streets.

The $13 million dollar building will host 56-apartments and should be up and running by 2021 at 3555 Spy Run Avenue Extended.
