Fire destroys detached garage, closes W State Blvd early Thursday


FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – A fire shut down a portion of West State Boulevard early Thursday morning.
Firefighters responded to a reported residential structure fire at 1821 W. State Boulevard around 2:30 a.m.

First arriving units found a fully involved detached garage fire. Firefighters controlled the fire in approximately 10 minutes.

No injuries to the owner or firefighters were reported and West State was re-opened a short time later.
Assisting the Fire Department were the Fort Wayne Police Department and TRAA Paramedics. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
