Fire breaks out at a Dupont Road home under renovation

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Officials with the Fort Wayne Fire Department say one resident made it out safe after a fire broke out Thursday evening.
At 6:43 p.m., FWFD crews were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 2206 W. Dupont Road.

First arriving fire crews found moderate smoke coming from the home. Crews found a small fire inside the house and extinguished it in less than 10 minutes. The house was being renovated and the occupant was able to self evacuate.

The home suffered minor fire and water damage as well as moderate smoke damage.
The cause remains under investigation.
